Meron Group, based in Kochi, Kerala, enjoys an undisputed leadership in the manufacture, export, and supply of Agar-Agar, Agarose, culture media ingredients and Chitin/Chitosan .We have three divisions- MARINE CHEMICALS, MERON INGREDIENTS and MERON BIOPOLYMERS. Marine Chemicals was established in 1982, to manufacture and develop high quality Agar. Since the Culture Media producers were in need of various ingredients other than Agar-Agar, we were receiving frequent enquiries to supply those things too. Hence to offer better services to our customers a new division of Marine Chemicals under the name Meron Ingredients was formed in 1996 to develop and market Culture Media ingredients. Ever since its inception this new division has gained strong foothold both in the domestic and international markets and is currently one of the top exporter of Culture Media ingredients from India.

With constant focus on R&D, we created another landmark in 1989, by introducing Bacteriological and Pharma Grade Agar-Agar. The Chitin / Chitosan and culture media ingredients introduced in 1997 also put the company in good stead in the global market. Another breakthrough in R&D resulted in the successful commercial launch of the most purified form of Agar- Agarose, in 2007.

Today, Marine Chemicals which is an ISO 9001:2000 company is the largest producer and market leader of Agar-Agar in India. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at two units in Kerala and Tamil Nadu ensure the best quality of production and hence complete customer satisfaction. The constant efforts for improving the quality of products make us the No.1 exporter of Agar-Agar in India, with a strong client base in around 30 countries.
